Okanagan Sun aim for national title at Apple Bowl

It could be yet another massive sporting spectacle here in Kelowna.

If the ever-impressive Okanagan Sun football team wins the BC title this year they will get to be hosts of the national championship in November. That would be at the Apple Bowl.

The Sun are one of the most successful teams in junior football history and while they've won the national championship three times, many would argue they have the pedigree to win even more. Perhaps that can be this year?

A home national final would make an extraordinary climax for a squad brimming with veteran talent including linebacker Grayson Statham who's into his fifth and final year.

Regan Bartel chatted with him and head coach Travis Miller as another season that promises plenty of hope and expectation gets underway.

The Sun started their new campaign with a win at the Vancouver Island Raiders and travel to the Langley Rams Saturday July 25. They play their first home game of the season Saturday Aug 8 against the Valley Huskers.
