See what's planned for the old church site in Pandosy

No high-rises

In what has come as a relief to some Kelowna city councillors, the proponent for a development in the Pandosy urban centre has chosen to go low-rise and low key.

City council has given a Development Permit for a commercial development on Lakeshore Rd, near the corner of K.L.O. Rd, the the site of the former St. Paul's United church.

It will not be high-rise, even though the zoning there could allow eight storeys.

There will be a combination of two single-storey commercial buildings and one three-storey commercial building.

It will have 81 vehicle parking stalls, 31 bicycle parking stalls, and extensive landscaping, including 39 trees.

The developer wanted to get going on a project and decided against something big, much to the relief of some who figure enough tall buildings have gone up in the Pandosy neighbourhood in recent years.
