The Rockets and the beer garden
It was 22 years ago this week that the Kelowna Rockets hoisted the Memorial Cup here at home.
Starting Friday, the team will once again host the prestigious tournament.
But May 2004, was also a special time for Eric and Lynda Stansfield. They met at the beer garden in the parking lot at Prospera Place and liked each other so much they ended up getting married!
They've kept their 2004 Memorial Cup T-shirts and, every year, take a short walk across the street to the parking lot to raise a beer to their little piece of history.
Regan Bartel, the voice of the Rockets with 104.7 The LIZARD, and the man behind RocketFAN.ca, chatted with the happy couple.
