This is Kelowna: Sign of the times

Selfie central as Kelowna makes waves!

Kelowna unveiled its new waterfront Signature Sign Friday morning in Stuart Park.

It's a new landmark designed to celebrate the city’s identity and bring people together along the shoreline.

It's also a bold declaration that Kelowna is earning a bigger and bigger reputation for hosting world class events and the nation is paying attention.

City officials say the seven huge steel letters, on the newly renovated lawn area near the yacht club, is intended to act as a gathering place and photo destination, reflecting Kelowna’s character, natural setting and community spirit through artistic and interactive design elements.

The project also incorporates storytelling elements inspired by the city’s history and includes acknowledgement of Indigenous representation as part of its broader design approach.
